Vital Mazor
BLA 2015
Interdisciplinary Fine Arts - Global Education Office Special Program Coordinator @ UNM
Vital was born in Israel, but has lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico most of her life. Vital likes to describe her experience in the BLA program as “one of coolest experiences of her life;.” As a lover of the fine arts, Vital invented a program in which she could combine the hands-on experience of performing arts, but also focus on the historical parallels between performance and the past. Her future pedagogy and research will focus on the interdisciplinary implication of these two disciplines in education. One of Vital's academic success happened this year: she started to write a musical, in which she highlights the Palestinian/Israeli conflict and brings new light to the topic. She recently attended the Shared Knowledge Conference to present on her research. Vital graduated Summa Cum Laude with a 4.1 GPA. She is receiving an Honors designation, with an International distinction for speaking fluent Hebrew.
I love my degree because it allowed me to have an interdisciplinary education through which I explored the interconnected qualities of several fields of study. I believe this helped shape me into a versatile individual going forward into my future.
