Sgt Ross served in the US Marine Corps in Vietnam, after the war he became a NM State Police Officer. After sustaining a serious injury, Sgt Ross inspired his family when he went back to college and became a Prosecuting Attorney. He served in the Bernalillo County District Attorney's Office until his death in 2005, and he also taught courses at several area colleges, including UNM Law Clinics.
